Ask to see the law tag showing a recent production date.  You wouldn’t buy used underwear, why take a chance on your next bedding purchase.  Stores that offer 30-90 day "Comfort Swaps" don’t destroy returned beds some simply re-bag them and sell them at a fraction of the cost to small retail shops that turn around and offer a slight discount and a scratch and dent story to explain the lack of warranty.   I know this for a fact because SEALY approached me about selling these types of beds. Florida does not have any laws requiring retailers to disclose to the consumer whether a mattress is used or not.​  I seem to encounter customers who were scammed here in Jacksonville at least once or twice a month.
 

There are some people selling RECOVERED BEDS as new.. I have encountered customers who have been scammed by people here in Jacksonville who re-cover used beds from hotels and just stitch a new cover over it and re-wrap it in plastic and offer it on Craigslist.org as an 80% OFF Sale or a story about how it was just purchased and now they don’t need the bed. ​Or its a story about being overstocked with extra beds the factory didn't sell.  

Become vigilant ask to see the law tag make sure it has a recent production date.  This is why I only sell brand new bedding.  Feel free to contact my suppliers and verify that I receive weekly shipments of new bedding in factory plastic with barcodes and production dates.  See Picture below of one of my recent beds that just came off the truck.​
